Kay Hsin-Lien Wang
Marketing Director of New America Media
Kay has more than 10 years of experience in project management, marketing, event production and media communications in the high-tech, entertainment and cross-cultural media industries. Assisting Executive Director or independently, she handles central communications with clients, establishing contracts, developing budgets, strategizing campaigns and events, as well as maintaining client relationships. She acts as the main contact for national marketing events. She also is responsible for all marketing activities and communications for broadcasting media.
Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Dana Levine is the Marketing & Communications Coordinator for New America Media. She handles all activities and communications with print media, including media planning and ad placement. She is also the marketing event planner. She coordinates media outreach, media tracking and monitoring, as well as the production of post-event reports.Since November 2007, she has contributed her organizational talents on several major marketing campaigns for clients including Flex Your Power, California Teacher's Association, Leadership Conference of Civil Rights, Bureau of Automotive Repair, Haas Jr. Fund and Census 2010.
Creative Director of Marketing
Allen has worked for NAM for the last three years as creative director and campaign manager. He's a creative problem solver looking for strategic answers. He creative managed NAM's $2 million campaign for Let California Ring that eventually brought home the top award in public policy campaigns by The Council on Foundations. Allen helped NAM navigate the winding road between ethnic car enthusiasts and green car aficianados, launching the nation's first Green Car Show geared toward ethnic car enthusiasts‚ hosted by the Bureau of Automotive Repair. Most recently, he creative managed the public education campaign in support of California's clean air laws. Allen has over 20 years experience in advertising and marketing having worked on campaigns for clients such as Panasonic and HSBC Bank. He has a passion for strategic campaigns that stay on target no matter what the medium, be it print, web, radio, TV or guerilla.
Jay Rooney serves as New America Media's communications director. He voices NAM's mission, concerns and efforts through the organization's newsletter, social media channels and e-mail communications, as well as through personal media outreach. Prior to his role at NAM, Jay worked as a freelance reporter for The Miami Herald and an associate editor for Andpersand Magazine in Miami, Florida. He also has an extensive technology background, having worked both as a freelance web developer and as a specialist at Apple, Inc. Jay obtained his B.S. in Journalism & History from the University of Miami and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
Program Management Associate
Semany Gashaw graduated from McGill University in 2012 and started an internship at New America Media in February of 2013. In June 2013, Semany became a Program Management Associate, assisting with media outreach, monitoring, tracking and coordinating translations for campaigns.
